Help Us in Building a Stronger Community Together

Tacoma Food Bank is a beacon of hope and sustenance, proudly distributing over 32,000 meals every month. While our primary focus is on supporting recently immigrated refugees, our doors are open to all members of the community in need. Together, with every meal shared, we bridge cultures, reinforce unity, and ensure that everyone feels welcomed and nourished.

The Voices That Inspire Us

A New Family Away from Home

“It’s good that there are kind people in the world, I don’t know what drives you and why you need it. Well, I want to say a huge thank you from our family for helping people like us who fled from their homes and cities because of the war. And here, hundreds of kilometers away, we saw and felt that someone was worried about us having something to eat every week. You have no idea how much you do and we are grateful to you and we will never forget this!”

A Team That Truly Cares

Volunteering at Tacoma Food Bank has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Every time I’m surrounded by people who truly care—people who show up with kindness, patience, and a real commitment to helping our community. What inspires me most is how everyone works together, no matter their role. Whether we’re sorting produce, unpacking boxes, or greeting families, there’s always a sense of teamwork and respect

Where Compassion Comes to Life

Good evening! We are returning home to Ukraine, and I wanted to thank everyone who touched us with their help and kindness, or simply treated us humanely! May the Lord bless your entire team, the church in this ministry, so that you would never know the need. Guys, you are doing the thing that is needed, blessings!

Hope Found Here

I want to thank you for your great work, today, the products were gorgeous. I also thank you for the clothes, God left shorts and summer pants for me, which cost a lot in general, and for us not working, it is God’s blessing. I had a brain operation in Ukraine; the tumor was 250 grams. I was blind, paralyzed, but for some reason the Lord did not take me, and I still feel the effects, it is also difficult to get a job, but Jesus cares…, for example, through you, may Christ generously give back to you, we are praying for your work

WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO

Since the onset of the Ukraine-Russia war in 2022, Tacoma Food Bank has stood beside refugees fleeing both Ukraine and Russia, offering a lifeline of practical support and human connection. Every week, our team sorts, packs, and distributes nutritious groceries through a free food bank that has quickly become a vital gathering point for hundreds of displaced families. Beyond addressing immediate hunger, we aim to restore a sense of dignity and stability, greeting each newcomer with warmth, listening to their stories, and guiding them toward additional social and legal resources.

What makes our work possible is the collective generosity of volunteers and donors who refuse to look away from this crisis. With no paid staff and minimal overhead, every contribution—whether hours spent or funds given —directly sustains those who have lost almost everything. Together, we are proving that compassion transcends borders and politics, and we invite you to join us in ensuring that no refugee in our community has to choose between safety and a meal.
